DC Comics supervillain The Mist, probably best known to the current generation from James Robinson's acclaimed run on Starman, seems the most likely candidate to appear on The Flash's second episode after a teaser from TVLine.

Asked by a fan about Stephen Amell's cameo in the pilot for the upcoming DC Comics series, Matt Webbb Mitovich quickly ran down the details of that appearance, and then added, "Now, if I can interest you in some Episode 2 scoop, I am hearing that the second metahuman The Flash will face off against might make us all feel a bit…well, Mist-y."

If true, this will be the second villain from Robinson's Starman to play a role in The CW's The Flash universe; Mr. Bliss will appear in The Flash: Season Zero, a digital-first comic book series overseen by showrunner Andrew Kreisberg and set between the pilot and the first episode of the series. Starman is one of those DC Comics series that has time and time again been nominated by fans and industry press as being ripe for adaptation.

It's perhaps also worth noting that The Mist from the Golden Age had a daughter who later became The Mist after Starman killed her brother. Weather Wizard, who appears in the pilot for The Flash, has a twin brother in the comics and it's been speculated that he might show up on the TV show at some point as well.

A personal connection to other characters down the line seems to be a recurring theme on the show, as Ronnie Raymond was cast this week and turned out to be the fiancee of Danielle Panabaker's Caitlyn Snow.
