Ben Affleck, who will play Bruce Wayne/Batman in Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, crashed a Superman-themed birthday party for a child in Detroit, where the movie is currently in production, over the weekend.

The Detroit Free Press reports that Affleck, his wife Jennifer Garner and their 2-year-old son invited themselves to a party at Detroit Kid City in Southfield on Sunday, when the popular play center and cafe is regularly closed for private parties.

"I spoke with Ben for 10 or 15 minutes and he was very pleased with the facility. He was very interested in getting a Detroit Kid City out in L.A.," said Garrett Dixon of Detroit Kid City. "He said they had a blast and will definitely be in contact with us."

Apparently Mark Wahlberg and his familiy similarly enjoyed the facilities while filming Transformers: Age of Extinction.

According to the Freep, "The venue offers a miniature Motor City play city, complete with everything from an auto factory to a music studio. There's also a menu of organic coffee for parents and organic juices and Michigan-made snacks."

It's not clear from the story whether Affleck had been alerted to the Superman-themed party and chose that one on purpose or whether it was just a function of when he was able to stop by due to his filming schedule. The story says that the families in attendance were excited to meet the soon-to-be Dark Knight, in any event.

Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice will open on May 6, 2016. It stars Affleck alongside Man of Steel star Henry Cavill as Superman and Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman.
