Alex Kurtzman, the remaining half of the now-defunct Kurtzman/Orci writing partnership still working on The Amazing Spider-Man 3, verified his former partner's assessment that things are up in the air for the Sony sequel, but seemingly denied that there's no plan in place and that members of the creative team don't know when each film will come in the context of the series.

"It's still in conversation.  Everybody is still figuring it out," he said of The Amazing Spider-Man 3 in a new interview at Collider. Still, he said, that movie is planned to come next, followed by Sinister Six and then Venom.

Originally, the plan had been for those films to see release in 2016, 2017 and 2018. Whether that's still realistic isn't clear.

There are, certainly, things that Kurtzman admits are still in flux. Quizzed about the possibility of a Black Cat movie to satisfy the market's hunger for a female-led superhero flick, he responded, "Everything is still on the table, right now. Because it's a universe outside of the Spider-Man universe, even though it's connected to it, those movies have to stand on their own."
