Today at Comic-Con Internatonal: San Diego, Marvel Comics announced that it would relaunch Mighty Avengers as Captain America and the Mighty Avengers, featuring a team of Avengers led by Sam Wilson – formerly the Falcon – as Captain America. The series will be written by Al Ewing and drawn by Luke Ross.

With Sam Wilson taking over the mantle of Captain America, following the events of Axis, he decides to take the Avengers in a new direction. However, the shadow of Axis still looms large over the team. Meanwhile, Luke Cage is meeting with the head of Cortex, and Spider-Man is trying to get back on the team, but Luke and Jessica Jones aren't happy about the idea.

Ewing has been writing Mighty Avengers since it was first launched in the Marvel NOW! era, and Ross will join him to give the relaunched series a new look.

Captain America & the Mighty Avengers will be released in November.
