Guardians of the Galaxy post credits stinger

During press and premiere screenings of Guardians of the Galaxy, there were no bonus scenes in the credits. There was a rather humorous scene at the end that started just as the credits started rolling, but it wasn't meant as the stinger for the film. Here is what we know about the bonus credits scene(s), which has been confirmed by James Gunn.

The post-credits scene(s) will be included in the showings of Guardians of the Galaxy that start at 7 PM on Thursday, July 31, 2014.

The post-credits scene(s) is not the Avengers: Age of Ultron footage that was shown at 2014 Comic-Con International.

The post-credits scene(s) was shot by James Gunn himself. If you remember, James Gunn shot one of the post-credits scenes for Thor: The Dark World, because it led into Guardians of the Galaxy. By Gunn revealing he shot his own post-credits scene(s), it reveals that the scene(s) likely doesn't tease another upcoming Marvel film.

While this hasn't been confirmed by Gunn, the post-credits scene reportedly features a very interesting cameo involving another character from the Marvel Universe. We've hidden the name of the character in spoiler text below, so only look if you want to know.

Howard the Duck

At the very end of the actual credits, there is a cute little message that reads, "No raccoons or tree creatures were harmed during the making of this film."

It's unknown for sure if there is only one or if there are multiple post-credits scenes. It is thought that there is likely only one post-credits scene.
