by Joe Comicbook

When the first reviews surfaced for Guardians of the Galaxy, the film held a rare 100% approval rating from critics on Rotten Tomatoes. As more reviews have been posted, Guardians of the Galaxy’s critic approval rating has dropped somewhat as would be expected.

However, after 189 reviews, Guardians of the Galaxy still has a 93% approval rating from critics, which is tied for first among Marvel Studios movies and ahead of The Avengers on Rotten Tomatoes. The Avengers has a 92% critic approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes, while the original Iron Man has a 93% critic approval rating just like Guardians of the Galaxy.

So how do you break the tie between Guardians of the Galaxy and Iron Man? Besides critic ratings, Rotten Tomatoes also has a liked it rating from audiences. Guardians of the Galaxy currently has a 96% liked it rating among audiences on Rotten Tomatoes, which is the highest ever for a Marvel Studios film.

In comparison, The Avengers has a 91% liked it rating, and Iron Man also has a 91% liked it rating. Other than Guardians of the Galaxy, the highest audience liked it rating on Rotten Tomatoes for a Marvel Studios film is actually Captain America: The Winter Soldier, which has a 93% liked it rating.

When taking both the critic and audience reviews into account, Guardians of the Galaxy appears to be the most liked Marvel Studios film ever on Rotten Tomatoes.
