The 2014 Geekie Awards announced that the "First Lady of Sci Fi," and Oscar and Emmy-winning producer of The Walking Dead Gale Anne Hurd will be presented with the Stan Lee Lifetime Achievement Award by the award's first recipient, Stan Lee.

Additionally, LeVar Burton will be awarded the Geek-of-the-Year Award for his independent and innovative efforts in raising over $6 million to help over 10,000 classrooms by bringing back "Reading Rainbow."

"I have always considered myself a geek, so being the recipient of a Lifetime Achievement award named after the 'King of the Geeks', Stan Lee, is really a dream come true," saidHurd.

"As a self-avowed Geek, I'm honored to be named Geek-of-the-Year by the Geekies!" said Burton. "At its essence, Geek culture promotes values that I readily identify with: diversity, inclusion, creativity and innovation just to name a few. I look forward to being in attendance on the night. In a word, I'm geeked! "

The Geek Cred Award will be given to the producers of the Oculus Rift VR system, another massive Kickstarter success.

The 2014 Geekie Awards will be livestreamed via Twitch on Sunday, August 17, 2014 at 6:00pm PST. Gibson Brands, Inc. has come on board as the presenting brand and, along with many other top companies, will be providing gifts such as custom-designed guitars for celebrity signing on-site for a public charity auction. Proceeds from this auction will be given to The Jim Henson Foundation.

Tickets for the show and afterparty can be purchased here.

The list of 2014 nominees was announced at Comic-Con last month and can be viewed here
