Quick Notes on the Avatar Panel at Comic-Con
We’re working on a full Avatar story, but some quick notes:
August 21st will be ‘Avatar Day’. Unlike traditional marketing of films where the studio releases trailers at pre-planned moments, James Cameron and folks are going to take it up a notch. Head to an IMAX theater on August 21st and you can see FIFTEEN minutes of Avatar in 3-D. Talk about confidence in your film.
The trailer for ‘James Cameron’s Avatar: The Game will also debut on that day.
We’ll see how well this event is received (we’re betting it’ll be HUGE). If it’s a game changer, we think we’ll have seen a shift in film marketing.
