The First Five New Avengers are Revealed
Marvel has been slowly and skillfully doling out teaser images of new teams that will debut at the conclusion of the current Siege story line and the beginning of the Heroic Age, which presumes a dramatic end to a Marvel universe controlled by Norman Osborn for the better part of a year and a half now. Following on the heels of their unveiling of the first five members of their new Avengers team comes the New Avengers. We showed you last week that Luke Cage was one of the members revealed on this team, and now we’re here to show you the other four that have been revealed at this time!
Marvel Comics Announces New “New Avengers”, First Member Revealed
As the Siege in Marvel Comics rages on, the ground work for the upcoming “Heroic Age” continues. Recently, we brought you the first five members of the soon-to-be relaunched Avengers series. Marvel has begun a new line of teasers in anticipation of the next series, a relaunch of the hit series New Avengers will begin in June, and it looks like the first member of the group will be none other than Sweet Christmas himself, Luke Cage! There was speculation that he might join the proposed Secret Avengers, but Marvel has put those rumors to rest with today’s announcement.
Fantastic Five: First Five Avengers for Relaunch Fully Revealed!
Over the past week, Marvel has been slowly revealing the first five members of its highly-anticipated relaunch of the Avengers series, which will be in the highly capable, talented hands of Brian Michael Bendis and John Romita Jr. Now, the dust has settled, the teasers have been shown, and now we know the first five characters who will make up the new team. So far, it appears to be an interesting mix of the classic team lineup and a bridge to characters of the past few years! As we see here, Thor will be in the lineup! It’s going to be interesting to see how he overcomes the current events of Siege to make his return to the team that he helped to found! The artwork featured gives us a great tease as to what’s to come, and just what sort of stance we can expect from our heroes as we enter a new era and age in Marvel Comics! Marvel Announces Next Avengers Creative Team!
As the heroes, villains and villains pretending to be heroes slog through the battle that currently is “Siege”, Marvel has begun sewing the seeds of its upcoming relaunch of the entire Avengers franchise. There’s an old saying that the two things certain in life are death and taxes. Since we’re coming up on the end of January and into the throes of the official tax season, we know that this is a certainty in our world! 2009 saw some of the most memorable deaths in the entertainment and political realms in recent memory. Icons, legends and established figures were taken from the world, some on the verge of a comeback and some in their prime. Comics have also lost some icons, not only this year but in the past decade. Death in the real world is a vastly different thing from that of the fictional world, with the prospect of return always a possibility where comics are concerned.
