Sci Fi Channel To Change Name And Image
For the past 16 years, fans of science fiction, low budget horror, and really cheesy made-for-TV movies have called the Sci Fi channel home. Now, in an attempt to revitalize the entire network, Sci Fi Channel will be known as SyFy. Along with the phonics-friendly respelling, the channel will also get a new logo and a new tagline-“Imagine Greater.”
Sci Fi Channel president Dave Howe claims that while the company will still be devoted to all things science fiction, the network hopes to offer programs that expound on more than just space travel, alien encounters, and life in the future.
Caprica To Be Prequel To Battlestar Galactica

Production on the series will begin in the summer of 2009 in Vancouver. Executive producers on the series are Ronald D. Moore, David Eick and Remi Aubuchon. Writers are Aubuchon and Moore, while Jeffrey Reiner is the director.
