More ‘Green Lantern’ news this week.  Last year, the rumors flew about Jackie Earle Haley (Watchmen) playing Sinestro in the film. Haley was first reported to be in the film, then that was shot down. He is.  He isn’t.  He is.  He isn’t.  It was like a couple of five year olds arguing.

Now comes Drew McWeeny at Hitfix, who is sticking his neck out regarding Haley:

“Jackie Earle Haley is the only choice for Sinestro by the studio.”

McWeeny also said that while the deal isn’t signed:

“I’m willing to say that Haley is the guy.”

Whether or not Haley is Sinestro shouldn’t be the question here.  The question should be: Why the heck is this film trying to tackle multiple villains?  HAS NO ONE LEARNED FROM ‘SPIDER-MAN 4′?  Less is more, studios.  You spread the film out and people walk away mumbling.

Green, the American kind in this case, seems to have its weaknesses as well.  Following an unexpected bump in the strength of the Australian dollar versus the American dollar, The Hollywood Reporter has released news that the Ryan Reynolds-starring Green Lantern is moving its production out of the land down under in favor of a location with a better economic trend for Warner Bros., the studio producing the expected blockbuster. read more….
