Prediction: Iron Man 2 Will Be Highest Grossing Movie Of 2010
We’re still a couple weeks away from reaching 2010, but Comicbook.com is ready to make a bold prediction. (Well, maybe not so bold, because I imagine a lot of people will be making similar predictions, once the movie release date grows closer). We predict that Iron Man 2 will be the highest grossing movie of 2010.

First Official ‘Iron Man 2′ Poster Now Online
In the ‘I can’t believe I’m more pumped to see this movie than I already am’ category, the first official ‘Iron Man 2′ poster was just introduced. The poster gives us a great look at War Machine, which will be worn by Don Cheadle’s character, James ‘Rhodey’ Rhodes.
Simply put, this poster rocks!
Jon Favreau Won’t Direct ‘Avengers’
Jon Favreau won’t direct the ‘Avengers’ film and Edward Norton won’t reprise his role as the Hulk in ‘Iron Man 2.’ There had been rumors of both instances over the past few months. Says Favreau:
“They’ll have to (find a different director), because I’m not going to be available. It’s something I’m being the executive producer on, so I’ll definitely have input and a say.”
We tend to agree with Favreau’s perspective. It might be better to find someone that hasn’t focused so hard on one character like he has with Iron Man.

New ‘Iron Man 2′ Pic Out of Justin Hammer
Okay, this one isn’t that big of a deal, but it’s something. It seems as if everyone is itching for ANYTHING ‘Iron Man 2′ related, so we figured we’d pass this one along. This one is of Justin Hammer (played by Sam Rockwell), who is Tony Stark’s corporate rival.
No idea who found it, as people are crediting different folks for the pic.
‘Iron Man 2′ Leaked Footage
For those of you that weren’t able to attend the Iron Man panel at Comic-Con, you’re in luck. The five minute clip that Director Jon Favreau showed the audience has now been leaked online. The clip features Robert Downey Jr, Don Cheadle, and Garry Shandling.
Typically, clips like this get shut down IMMEDIATELY. However, Favreau Twittered about the leak, saying:
“Thanks for all the encouraging feedback. Will let you know if/when official clean version goes up.”
We’ve said it many times–Favreau is a marketing GENIUS. We wouldn’t be surprised if the Director is somehow behind the leak. He knows how to keep ‘em coming back–wanting more.

Iron Man 2 Viral Campaign Responds To Applications
Comicbook.com recently reported on the new viral marketing campaign for the highly anticipated Iron Man 2 movie. On the website StarkIndustriesNow.com, fans can submit an application to join Stark Industries (the company run by Iron Man alter ego Tony Stark).
For everyone wondering what happens after you fill out the application, we filled out an application a couple days ago, and we just received the following response.

Iron Man 2 Movie Viral Campaign Already Underway
With a May 7, 2010 release date, Iron Man 2 is still over nine months away, but the online viral campaign to support the movie is already underway. A big part of the success of the original Iron Man movie was the online buzz that the movie received after the trailer premiered at Comic-Con.
Director Jon Favreau is no dummy, and he has actively been catering to both comic book fans and the online audience to build the buzz for the second movie. For the last several months, Favreau has been updating twitter fans with teasers about the Iron Man 2 movie. Favreau also returned to Comic-Con in 2009 with a host of celebrities from the movie and actively acknowledged the role that Comic-Con attendees helped to play in the success of the first movie.
