Comic Books Meet Urban Sensibility: The Work of God City
The Charlotte, North Carolina based collection of artists called God City has found success in carving out their own place in the art scene while remaining true to the characters and love of comics that drew many of them together in the first place. Self-described “fanboys at heart,” it’s safe to say that God City has made its reputation by using their collective talent to depict what they describe as urban, hip hop influenced graphic representations of super heroes and the comic book medium. The artists gathered at the recent Heroes Con, Wolly, John Hairston Jr. and Marcus Kiser, each presented a unique style that complimented the vision of the organization and each other’s work. Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen Early Reviews Not so Favorable
While Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen will probably end up being the number one movie at the box office when the dust settles on this weekend’s movie receipts, early reviews of the film suggest that this could be one of the worst comic book/action figure/sci-fi adaptations of all time. Michael Bay has received sharp criticism for his work on the film over the first two installments, and judging from some of the rather pointed comments made about this entry into the Transformers’ universe, it could very well be warranted.
Noted film critic Roger Ebert, in giving the film one star, pulled no punches, stating in part of his review that the film, “is a horrible experience of unbearable length, briefly punctuated by three or four amusing moments.” Ouch!
Ebert went a bit further, hammering away at the actual robots themselves by saying, “They are dumb as a rock. They share the film with human characters who are much more interesting, and that is very faint praise indeed.”
Is Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen Going To Be A Musical?
If you watch the first couple seconds of the new Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen movie trailer, then you might start to wonder if the Transformers movie sequel is going to be a musical. But, thankfully, the singing and dancing that occurs by a giant robot in the new trailer appears to be just a brief joke scene. After Sam announces that he’s going away to college, Bumblebee starts dancing and singing “I’m So Excited,” before Sam reveals that Bumblebee is not coming with him.
Transformers’ Director Takes Issue With Transformers 3 Release Date
On Monday, Paramount Pictures announced that Transformers 3 will be released in theatres on July 1, 2011. So, let us review the three-quel’s checklist. Officially, Transformers 3 has no director, no Shia LeBeouf, and no Megan Fox. The film doesn’t even have a screenwriter or a basic plot outline. But it’s got a release date? What gives?
According to a Variety report, Paramount had to make a commitment for a spot in the coveted 2011 Independence Day weekend or face having to release the third Transformers film during a lower profile weekend.
For Michael Bay, director of the first Transformers film and its sequel due later this summer, the July 4th part of the release date for the franchise’s third installment sounds right. He’s just a little confused about the 2011 part.
Megan Fox To Appear In Pair Of Comic Book Movies

Michael Bay Speaks About Transformers 2 And Possibility Of A Three-quel
Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen hasn’t even hit theatres yet, and already director Michael Bay is talking Three-quel. Over the weekend, during the premiere of the Friday the 13th remake, Bay was constantly bombarded with questions about the upcoming sequel to last year’s blockbuster, Transformers.
In an interview with Collider.com, Bay states that while he is open to the idea of another Transformers feature, but he would have to take year off before he began the project. For fans of the 80s cartoon that chronicled the struggle for survival between the friendly Autobots and the deadly Decepticons, Bay’s statement means Transformers 3 probably wouldn’t hit theatres until at least late 2010, with sometime 2011 being more likely.
