On : June 18th, 2013 | In : Arrow, Television | No Comments

Stephen Amell, star of The CW’s Arrow, told Access Hollywood that this year, there would be a game-changing development in the series that would open the door to some very familiar DC Comics faces. “The game-changer is a game-changer–but I can’t say,” Amell said in the interview embedded below. “But it’s something and some people that aren’t just familiar to DC Comics fans, they’re like more familiar than Green Arrow.” There aren’t a ton of characters better-known than Green Arrow,

Ninja Turtles Title Returns on Licensing Expo Poster

On : June 18th, 2013 | In : Movies, Ninja Turtles | 1 Comment

We’ve been reassured by producer Michael Bay that Jonathan Liebesman’s new film featuring Michaelangelo, Donatello, Leonardo and Raphael will be called Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, just like the comics and cartoons, in spite of persistent rumors that the title would be shortened to simply “Ninja Turtles,” with rumors originally being that the Turtles were no longer mutants but actually alien beings. We’ve been told that’s all nonsense. Except, of course, that at one point Bay had confirmed the “Ninja Turtles”

X-Men: Days of Future Past Director Tweets Plot Point From the Set

On : June 18th, 2013 | In : Movies, X-Men: Days Of Future Past | No Comments

What happened in Paris? That’s what fans are asking themselves after seeing today’s dispatch from the set of X-Men: Days of Future Past, in which a Presidential speech appears to hint at a calamity in the French city spelling the start of a new and more challenging era for humanity (and probably their relationship with mutants). In the original storyline, it was the assassination of a U.S. politician that kicked everything into high gear; could director Bryan Singer, who tweeted

Is Man of Steel Haunted by Donner and Reeve?

On : June 18th, 2013 | In : Man Of Steel Movie, Movies | 5 Comments

This weekend, intrigued by the earlier reporting that Man of Steel is coming in with lower marks than passable-but-not-amazing comic book films like Iron Man 3 and Superman Returns on Rotten Tomatoes, I figured it was a good idea to look and see what the criticisms were of a movie that’s had great word-of-mouth from Hollywood for months now and from screenings the last three weeks or so. First of all, let me clarify that I don’t take these kinds

Well, now they’ve taken to Weather.com to release a first look at the movie, which the studio is dubbing a teaser trailer (with an introduction from a meteorologist, natch). It’s really a clip, presumably from the film, that carries with it a real Ice Age vibe, featuring a snowman and a moose and…well, just watch.

On : June 18th, 2013 | In : Kevin Smith, Man Of Steel Movie, Movies | 5 Comments

Ralph Garman, host of The Joe Schmo Show, guest-hosted on Kevin Smith’s Fat Man on Batman podcast this week, discussing the recent release of Man of Steel–and he hated the film. A lot. The X-Files Season Ten #1 Written by Joe Harris Art by Michael Walsh and Jordi Bellaire Grade: A- There are a lot of challenges faced by comic books that are based on licensed properties. First of all, they tend not to be very good–TV series, movies and toys turned into comics seem to be perceived by publishers and audiences as low-hanging fruit, and so top-tier talent don’t get assigned, editorial oversight is hugely increased because of the needs for licensor

Age Of Ultron #10 Leaks Online Early

On : June 18th, 2013 | In : Marvel Comics | No Comments

Age Of Ultron #10 has leaked early online. The early leaking of scans of pages of key event comic books has become a re-occurring problem for both Marvel and DC Comics. No one seems to know how the comic books get leaked, as scans often show up online in advance of retailers receiving copies of the comics. Age Of Ultron #10 has been teased by Marvel Comics as offering an unguessable ending.  Marvel Comics even went to the extent of
