Whenever anyone who appeared in any past Star Wars movie is asked if they would do Star Wars Episode 7, the overwhelming majority seems willing and ready to return. Who wouldn’t want to star in what will likely be one of the three biggest movies of 2015? We have to say one of the three biggest, because the Avengers sequel and also supposedly Justice League are set to be released that year as well. Samuel L. Jackson played Mace Windu
Marvel Comics announced yesterday that they will be releasing a 688-page omnibus hardcover in June, collecting all of the Marvel NOW! #1 issues, not unlike the similar DC Comics: The New 52 omnibus hardcover that was released last year. The book will feature a cover by Marvel Chief Creative Officer Joe Quesada and will be available for $99.99 in June 2013. Not all of the information is yet available for what, exactly, is included in the book. It’s believed that there
Universal has released the first trailer for Oblivion. Oblivion is a science fiction movie that stars Tom Cruise as Jack Harper. Th concept was originally being developed as a graphic novel, before it was turned into a film. Judging from the first trailer, Oblivion looks to be very interesting. JSA: The Liberty Files artist Tony Harris, who last month touched off an Internet firestorm following comments he made about female comic book convention attendees who he felt dress in cosplay gear and pretend to love comics just for the attention of undersexed geeks, took to his Facebook account today in the hopes of clarifying his earlier remarks. Harris says that his previous comment — widely characterized as a rant and prefaced by “I cant remember if Ive said this
A few months ago, a number of comics industry professionals started to circulate a list of Pixar’s “22 rules of storytelling” on Twitter. It’s making the rounds again, albeit somewhat less aggressively, in the last little while, hot on the heels of Joss Whedon’s 10 writing tips, constructed in 2009 but again…something that seems to come back around every so often when someone discovers it for the first time and then injects it into the unpredictable flow of Internet conversation.
The full Star Trek Into Darkness trailer set to debut worldwide before screenings of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey on Friday was screened today for an audience at the Butt Numb-A-Thon, a 24-hour movie marathon in Austin, Texas. According to Trek Movie, the trailer is one minute and fifty seconds long, putting it at around 35 seconds longer than the extended Japanese version of the announcement teaser that was released this week. They also confirmed suspicions voiced by ComicBook.com that
Coming with a new, extended trailer for “Year’s End,” Arrow‘s final new episode of 2012, is a batch of screen grabs over at Green Arrow TV, a couple of which show Thea Queen caught half-naked with…somebody. And, as the site points out (and it’s hard not to see once you’ve thought about it), that guy kinda looks like Roy Harper, known in the comics as first Speedy and later Arsenal. And yes, Roy was a needle-drug user in the comics,
Benedict Cumberbatch has, in cooperation with the Star Trek Into Darkness writers and producers, kept fans totally in the dark so far as to the identity of his villainous, mysterious role in the upcoming science fiction epic. That said, with the release of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey about a week away and many IMAX prints of that film featuring a nine-minute introduction to the new Star Trek film, it doesn’t seem entirely beyond the realm of possibility that we’ll
“Bane went through a lot of changes before the final version of The Dark Knight Rises,” explains the uploader of this bizarre and funny new parody video that recasts the entire story of the film as Bane’s quest for market-fresh strawberries. This is a dude who really likes fiber, apparently. There’s more to it, too, including a freestyle rap that rhymes “Wayne” with “Bane” a bunch of times and a pretty dramatic lunch order. Check it out below.
Editor’s Note: Last week, ComicBook.com sent actress and contributing writer Emily Donn to the Dark Knight Exhibit in Los Angeles, thinking that it would be helpful to send somebody who could speak the same language as the Hollywood people. The exhibit featured props, a garage-load of Batmobiles and a number of the effects guys and art directors who had worked on the cars all gathered under one roof to celebrate the release this week of The Dark Knight Rises and
Jamie Foxx will be hosting tonight’s edition of Saturday Night Live. Jamie Foxx is likely appearing to promote Django Unchained, which open in theaters on December 25, 2012. Django Unchained is from director Quentin Tarantino, and DC Comics is publishing a Django Unchained comic book as part of their Vertigo line. While we expect Jamie Foxx will probably give a call out to Django Unchained during the episode, it will be interesting to see if he makes any mention of
On the off chance anybody thought Ty Burrell, most notably of Modern Family fame, took the gig on Zack Snyder’s Dawn of the Dead remake just for the paycheck, he certainly went a long way towards showing fans he was one of them last night, when he not only talked at some length about his role on Dawn of the Dead but also brought a piece of custom-edited footage that depicted Conan O’Brien as Star Trek: The Next Generation‘s Admiral
With the Walking Dead not set to return until February, fans will have plenty of time to speculate about what will happen on the next episode. Another sneak preview aired during Talking Dead, and a third preview was unveiled on AMCTV.com. Here are five spoilers we compiled from the three previews. 5. Andrea Wants To Help Daryl
Over the life of Nathan Fillion’s ABC series Castle, the star has never shied away from his Firefly past, having dressed in his Mal Reynolds costume for Halloween one year and more recently referencing the show while his character was at a science-fiction convention in Castle. Well, now he’ll have some company, straight from the Serenity: Gina Torres, who played Zoe on Firefly, will join Fillion on Castle for an upcoming episode set to air during February sweeps, reports TV
While the United States version of the first Oblivion trailer isn’t set to arrive online until tomorrow, an international version of the first Oblivion trailer has already leaked out online. Of course, leaked might not be the right word as the trailer appears to be have been posted by an official Universal YouTube channel in Columbia. Regardless, we’re assuming that the only difference between the United States version and the international version will be the subtitles on the international version,
