We predict that Iron Man 2 will be the highest grossing movie of 2010.

World’s Worst Secret: War Machine to be in Iron Man 2

May 28, 2009 · Posted in Uncategorized · Comment

Finally, a confirmation of something we all knew: War Machine will be in ‘Iron Man 2.’  In a recent conversation with Empire, Director Jon Favreau spilled the beans:

“Rhodesy is definitely stepping up in this film. Let me put it this way: Tony’s not the only person with technology in the film.”

Okay, that isn’t an actual admission.  However, we caught a hint that we might see War Machine in the first film, and most folks agree that will be the case.  Besides, we’re hoping that Favreau learned a lesson from ‘Spider-Man 3′ and ‘The Dark Knight’–having the hero fight too many villains in one film can be a bit much.

With Whiplash and Justin Hammer as confirmed bad guys, Tony could use the help from Rhodesy.

Will Iron Man 2 Face Bad Karma?

April 24, 2009 · Posted in Iron Man, Iron Man 2 Movie, Marvel Comics, Movies · 3 Comments

Can’t wait until 2010 for a slew of heart-pounding Iron Man 2 battles? Well, wait no more Marvel fans, as a real-life battle of words is about to begin between War Machine and Iron Man. In an interview with Parade.com, actor Terrence Howard spoke out about Marvel’s decision to replace him with Don Cheadle in the role of Jim Rhodes. “Marvel made a choice, and it was a very, very bad choice,” Howard said. “They didn’t keep their word. They didn’t honor my contract.”

According to Howard, Marvel Studios wasn’t in a very sharing mood when it came to the film’s $318 million gross ticket sales. For unspecified reasons, except for what Howard hints at as greed, the producers did not share profits with him, as well as several other members of the Iron Man cast, including actress Gwyneth Paltrow. According to Howard, the only actor who received a share was Robert Downey Jr., who played the title role. Howard called Downey out, saying “One of the things that actors need to learn to do is always stick together, one for all and all for one.”

Robert Downey Jr. Taking Iron Man 2 Seriously

April 20, 2009 · Posted in Iron Man 2 Movie, Marvel Comics, Movies · Comment

In an interview with Collider, actor Robert Downey Jr. spoke about the challenges that he and the cast of Iron Man 2 face in filming the sequel. Downey spoke during a roundtable discussion for his latest film, “The Soloist.” While participating in the discussion, the actor told reporters that since he had never filmed a sequel before in his long career, he is feeling the pressure not to disappoint the fan base he built up from playing the lead role in the first Iron Man movie. “So I actually have taken ‘Iron Man 2’ probably more seriously than any movie I’ve ever done, which is appropriately ridiculous for Hollywood,” Downey confessed.

Downey also spoke about the sequel’s storyline, which he described as “incredibly risky.” Along with massive improvements to the film’s sets, Downey says that the cast of Iron Man 2 and the film’s themes have been beefed up. The actor went on to warn fans to be ready for a big genre movie that is very artistic. “We really, I think, leaving ourselves open to…we’re kind of trying to tell a story about how a dysfunctional family saves life on Earth as we know it.”
