Top Cow is releasing an ambitious project over the next few months, one that will certainly be a staple of their summer lineup, and it all started with the recently released Broken Trinity: Pandora’s Box #1, a project that continues the Broken Trinity work from before with the promise of globetrotting adventure and the feel of an Indiana Jones story, as a search for precious artifacts, beginning with the eponymous Pandora’s Box, begins here. For fans and readers of the Broken Trinity series, this first issue will quickly pick up and reintroduce you to the world of the bearers of the Ember Stone and the Glacier Stone. New readers may find the suddenness of the issue a bit unclear, but overall the story has potential to make an impact, even though a sense of immediacy and characters doesn’t always feel developed. Top Cow to Release new Broken Trinity Limited Series!
Last year, Top Cow took great strides in establishing Witchblade, The Darkness and Angelus as the main forces of power in their universe, and look for 2010 to continue that while also introducing other powerful beings with the February release of the first issue of Broken Trinity: Pandora’s Box, a limited series focusing on the events revealed in the first Broken Trinity series. Michael Finnegan and Glorianna Silver, the bearers of the Artifacts known as the Glacier Stone and Ember Stone, respectively, are the focus of this series, whose quest to bring the 13 Artifacts revealed in the first series is accelerated by a fanatical cult seeking to get Pandora’s Box! Top Cow’s Pilot Season Continues With Kirkman and Silvestri
Top Cow Productions will continue with its popular ongoing project Pilot Season with an exciting team-up between noted comic book talents Robert Kirkman, Marc Silvestri and Sheldon Mitchell, one of Top Cow’s noted artists! Coming out in February, 2010, Kirkman and Silvestri will premiere Pilot Season: Stealth #1. The focus will be on Todd Carey, a man whose life is in a bit of a disarray. New Darkness/Darkchylde/Witchblade One-Shot on the Way!
Top Cow Productions has just announced a new and exciting forty-eight page one-shot featuring some of their hottest and most popular characters! Coming in December of 2009, Darkness/Darkchylde/Witchblade: Kingdom of Pain will feature several important and exciting features, not the least of which is the appearance of all three of these characters in one amazing book! Written by writer and artist Randy Queen with coloring by Sarah Queen, the book will feature the bearer of the Darkness, Jackie Estacado, with new armor and Ariel Chydle, the girl with the power to become creatures from her nightmares, at the crossroads of an important new beginning! Another big event for this issue is the fact that Queen becomes the first artist to draw Darkness since Marc Silvestri designed the character over ten years ago! Read more
Angelus #1 Ushers Witchblade’s Dani Into her own Series!
Spinning out of the pages of Top Cow’s Witchblade comes an exciting new title, fresh off of the events surrounding the “War of the Witchblades” storyline. Dani Baptiste will assume her new role as the Angelus, the human bearer of the primal force of light, in Angelus, a series geared towards giving Dani her own voice while also giving Sara Pazzini the main, solo focus in the regular Witchblade title. The book will be the first of a six-issue series, and will kick off in December of 2009. Writer Ron Marz was particularly enthusiastic about the opportunity this new series provided. Read more
