SCREAM 2009 Awards Nominees Announced!
Spike TV’s 4th annual SCREAM Awards are coming up on October 17th at the Greek Theater in Los Angeles. Before we get to that ceremony however, first come the nominees! Announced late this afternoon, the nominees for the awards, which honor the fan favorites in comic books, sci-fi, horror and and fantasy, certainly comprise a number of blockbusters and fan favorites from the past year. J.J. Abram’s sci-fi masterpiece Star Trek leads the way with a total of seventeen nominations, including Best Science-Fiction Movie, Best Director and Best Ensemble. Read more

Is Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen Going To Be A Musical?
If you watch the first couple seconds of the new Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen movie trailer, then you might start to wonder if the Transformers movie sequel is going to be a musical. But, thankfully, the singing and dancing that occurs by a giant robot in the new trailer appears to be just a brief joke scene. After Sam announces that he’s going away to college, Bumblebee starts dancing and singing “I’m So Excited,” before Sam reveals that Bumblebee is not coming with him.
Megan Fox To Appear In Pair Of Comic Book Movies
According to the Hollywood Reporter, actress Megan Fox is preparing to star in a pair of upcoming movies based on comic book series. Fox is in final negotiations with Warner Bros. and DC Comics to star in a feature film version of the Western comic, Jonah Hex. If all goes according to plan, Fox will play Leila, the gun toting love interest of the title character. Oscar nominee Josh Brolin will play Jonah Hex, a disfigured bounty hunter who roams the Old West.
According to the report, the movie will follow Hex as he tracks down a Confederate sympathizer, played by John Malkovich, who uses voodoo to raise an army of zombies in hopes of liberating the South. The film will start filming sometime in April. Horton Hears A Who director Jimmy Hayward will helm the project.
Super Bowl Commercials: Movie Trailers Ranked By A Comic Book Geek
One of the great things about the Super Bowl is that movie studios often premiere new trailers for their upcoming blockbuster motion pictures during the Big Game. Given the success of The Dark Knight and Iron Man, many upcoming movies have themes that are rooted either in comic books, sci-fi, action figures, or Saturday morning shows.
During the Super Bowl, I watched and have reviewed all the various Super Bowl commercial movie trailers. I have ranked the Super Bowl commercial movie trailers according to how interested I was in them as a comic book fan. I started the ranking with my least favorite trailer first and proceeded to my favorite trailer last. Read more
