Fans will get to see Wonder Woman on their screens at home and on the go when Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice Ultimate Edition launches digitally on June 28, 2016, but the character's next big screen adventure hits a milestone today, as well: one year. It's down to one year to the day until Wonder Woman hits theaters. The film, the first modern superhero movie with a female lead and first time the 75+ year-old character will star in a big screen adventure is itself a major milestone for the ever-growing superhero phenomenon, and star Gal Gadot is excited.
"Omg. 1 year. 365 days till @wonderwomanfilm will be released! Cannot wait to share this with you! So excited!!!!!" she posted on instagram, accompanying a black-and-white version of her Batman v Superman promotional image.
Gadot was considered a standout in the film by most critics, stealing the spotlight from the two characters whose names actually appear in the title. Having just recently wrapped filming on Wonder Woman, Gadot moves straight into production on Justice League Part One, the November 2017 release that will see Batman, Wonder Woman, and Superman joined by Aquaman, The Flash, Cyborg, and Green Lantern to face an even larger threat. But first, she'll be on the screen showing us Wonder Woman's origin as she goes from life on the hidden island of Themyscira to the trenches of World War I.
Wonder Woman hits theaters June 2, 2017, one year from today.
