The mid-credits scene of Suicide Squad takes a page from the Iron Man playbook by having Bruce Wayne sit down for the same kind of ominous dinner with Amanda Waller that we have in the beginning of the movie. Bruce's agenda for seeing Waller? Obtaining more detailed files on all the metahumans she's come across - from The Enchantress to a man named Arthur Curry (Jason Mamoa), and many others.

In exchange for getting the information from Waller, Bruce agrees to protect her from the fallout of what happened during Task Force X's disastrous mission in Midway City. With file in hand, Bruce heads out to make some new friends, promising Waller that he and his team will succeed where her little experiment went wrong.

WHAT DOES IT MEAN: If you haven't watched the first Justice League trailer that debuted during Comic-Con, then this Suicide Squad mid-credits scene represents the connective tissue between those two films.

The portion of Justice League we saw was mostly footage of Bruce Wayne meeting Flash (Ezra Miller) and Aquaman (Jason Momoa), trying to recruit them to his elite team of heroes. After his meeting with Waller we now know how Bruce got his leads on the various League members whereabouts, and that he knows information well beyond the existence of metahumans. With the intel about The Enchantress clearly visible in the file, Bruce now knows that the supernatural and mystical are also realities in this brave new metahuman world.

So, on the surface level, this Suicide Squad mid-credits scene positions Batman as a sort of Nick Fury for the DCEU - and like Fury, he'll probably have more info than he tells his teammates about. Famous Justice League stories like "Tower of Babel" revolve around Batman's deep-seeded paranoid need to keep detailed files and countermeasures against his superpowered foes and friends alike; Something always worth remembering as the DCEU trudges forward.

It's also worth nothing the line Waller says to Bruce as he's leaving, about needing to "stop working nights." Apparently, The Wall is truly the more well-informed player in this chess game - which is why Bruce probably shouldn't trust the viper he's putting under his wing.

Sure, he tells her "You should shut it [Task Force X] down. My friends and I will do it for you," and while that's a noble sentiment, who knows how someone like "The Wall" will view a potential weapon of mass destruction like the assembled Justice League? After Earth is saved, the League could just as easily become the next target for Waller and Task Force X to take down (Suicide Squad sequel?).
