If you've been looking forward to a canon crossover with Marvel and DC Comics' most famous superheroes, then look no further. In a recent tweet, The Incredible Hulk himself took time to thank the cast of Justice League for supporting a cause close to his heart.

Taking to Twitter, Mark Ruffalo shared a link to a story detailing the Justice League cast's involvement with Rezpect Our Water, an organization that's fighting against the Dakota Access Pipeline. Ruffalo wrote a short message thanking the actors, writing, "Thanks @BenAffleck and all! Justice League cast unites against Dakota Access Pipeline."

For those of you unfamiliar with the pipeline, then you should know the controversy comes from a proposed oil line that's threatening to upheave sacred Native American land. The Dakota Access Pipeline will cross three states and transports over 570,000 barrels of crude oil a day across the country. However, part of the pipeline will run less than a mile from the Missouri River and a settlement called the Standing Rock Reservations.

Obviously, natives are concerned about what kind of environmental damage the pipeline could cause in their community. After all, over 300 oil pipelines broke in North Dakota in 2012 alone, causing locals to question whether the build is safe. And, what's more, construction on the pipeline will also force sacred Native American lands to be desecrated. Locals have already clashed with authorities and private oil companies over the controversial build as they plead for their land to be left alone.

In the past few weeks, national attention has been slowly turned towards the growing conflict as more supporters rally behind the locals. A petition was recently posted to Change.org to promote Rezpect Our Water that's gained over 254,000 signatures.

Of course, many aren't surprised to see that Mark Ruffalo gave a shoutout to the Justice League cast for their visible support. The actor is well-known for being an activist about corrupt political and environmental concerns. Ruffalo is now one of the world's most famous fracking critics and stands as a major proponent for renewable energy. Most recently, Ruffalo produced a documentary titled Dear President Obama: The Clean Energy Revolution Is Now which analyzes the country's growing oil and natural gas dependency. And, somehow, he managed to do this in-between shooting for Thor: Ragnarok.

Balancing both his acting career and activism, Ruffalo is known as one of the industry's most socially conscious actors. Now, it seems as if the Justice League cast is following in his footsteps.

Thor: Ragnarok will hit theaters next year November 3, 2017. Justice League will arrive on November 11, 2017 with a sequel to follow on June 14, 2019.
