It was recently announced that Actor Bill Crudup would be joining the cast of The Flash solo film from director Rick Famuyiwa, but this isn't the first time he's expressed interest in the role.

Actually, that's not altogether correct. He didn't really have a single role in mind, more like any role. In an interview with MTV from early 2015, Crudup is standing alongside Ezra Miller and Michael Angarano. When Miller is asked about his recently revealed Flash casting, Crudup doesn't take too long to chime in with a simple request.

"More importantly, is there a part for like, let's say a guy who plays mid to late forties."

When interviewer Josh Horowitz brought up the possibility of Dr. Manhattan showing up, Crudup replied "No he died, he's done (laughter)" so that doesn't look like its happening anytime soon.

Now Crudup is finally part of the project as Henry Allen, father to Miller's Barry Allen. While he is new to the Flash universe, he isn't new to the DC universe, as he also played Dr. Manhattan in Zack Snyder's Watchmen.

As for Miller, he has also recently secured a role in a coveted franchise, Warner Bros. own Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them. He will play the role of Credence, and he's wanted to be a part of the franchise for some time.

"So I'd heard about the part and remember that to me – someone who got into Harry Potter so young, as a fan – I thought this was a universe that had been closed to me forever," he stated.

It took a bit of maneuvering on the studios part to make things line up schedule wise, but they ultimately made it happen. Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them hits theaters on November 11th, and Miller will hit the screen as The Flash first in Justice League (November 17th, 2017) and then alongside Crudup in The Flash solo film, which hits screens on March 23rd, 2018.
