The Flash's Suicide Squad Cameo Officially Released

One of the highlights of Suicide Squad for many fans was the introduction sequence, bringing the various members of the squad into jail, as apprehended by two particular heroes: Batman and The Flash. While Batman's presence in the film had been much publicized leading up to it, The Flash's cameo was a relative surprise - it was also there and gone in a ... blink? a moment? Oh, in a Flash!

Now, that cameo, offering up a full look at Ezra Miller in costume as The Flash (and not in some weird time-dream-tunnel thing like in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice), has been released online as part of a featurette ostensibly about Digger Harkness aka Captain Boomerang. One of the Flash's Rogues, if you were going to show Boomerang get taken down, it almost had to be done by the Flash. Funny enough, though, the two halves of the scene were shot completely separately, with Miller's portion shot in London on the set of Justice League by Zack Snyder, and Boomerang (Jai Courtney) was filmed in Toronto on the Squad set.

In fact, The Flash's cameo was such a surprise that Jai Courtney didn't even know about it until he saw a cut of the movie.

"I didn't know he was in the movie until I saw the movie! True!" Courtney told Comicbook.com during an interview in New York. "It's funny, because I look back on it and think, 'ya f***in' moron, of course that's what was happening!' But even shooting that [scene], it didn't occur to me. It wasn't so prescriptive in the script. That was a little gem they were keeping, and rightly so, I understand why they'd want to protect that."

While The Flash film is looking for a new director (its third) and may be swapping release dates with Aquaman, Courtney did say he'd like to return as Boomerang for another go at the speedster when that film kicks off.

"Yeah, I don't know, I don't think there's anything restricting it from happening," Courtney said of making the jump to The Flash solo film. "It's not a conversation that I've had yet. It'd be dope though, I'd love to. With these properties, and this world, the potential to kind of cross-contaminate is there everywhere. It would be dope to be part of that. I'd love the opportunity."

Ezra Miller can next be seen as The Flash in Justice League in November 2017. He'll then run eventually into his own solo film.
