Recently, Kevin Smith has been in a super mood. The geek icon and filmmaker has been busy directing his episode of Supergirl for The CW, and Smith hasn't been shy with updating fans about how it is going. So, today, fans were sad to hear that Smith's time on set had come to a close - but none were as bummed as the director himself. To celebrate his final days working on Supergirl, Smith decided he's make a pretty swanky wrap gift for the show's crew members, and it's more than appropriate.

"This is the wrap gift t-shirt I gave to all the [Supergirl] cast and crew member who made my episode," Smith wrote on Facebook. The post was accompanied with a picture that riffs off an iconic image of Supergirl from DC Comics. Nodding to Crisis on Infinite Earths, Kara Zor-El can be seen lying limp in the arms of...Silent Bob?

Yes, you heard right. Smith swapped out Superman for his long-running character, Silent Bob. "Drawn by the always amazing Jeff Quigley, we crib the most iconic Supergirl image in comics history: Superman holding his fallen cousin on the cover of [Crisis on Infinite Earths]. But standing in for the [Man of Steel] is the Man of Shhhh himself, [Silent Bob]," Smith wrote.

He then joked, "Hopefully, this image isn't a prognosticator of my episode somehow killing the show I love."

If Smith's praise is anything to go by, it does not look like his episode of Supergirl will tank. The director generously praised the crew who worked with him on the episode earlier in his post.

"Now having worked on both Supergirl and The Flash, I can equate the experience to making both a sfx extravaganza AND an indie flick at the same time: you have the talent and tools of a big budget movie but the time of a low budget flick. Most of the folks who work on these shows COME from feature films and do work you'd normally see in feature films - but do it in only 8 days."

Smith went on to say, "If there's any bad about ["Supergirl Lives"], it's entirely mine: because the cast and crew made a fantastic episode. I know this not only because I was there watching when they did it, but also because I've already peeped some of the scenes our editor Barbara cut together. This thank you t-shirt is the least I can do for the folks who made me look like I might be good at my job."

This is not the first time this season that Supergirl has been connected back to the famous Crisis on Infinite Earth comics. Earlier this year, a promotional poster for Season 2 of Supergirl that depicted Tyler Hoechlin's Superman holding his cousin (played by Melissa Benoist) as you can see Silent Bob doing here.

Poor Supergirl! Let's just hope she makes it out of this season intact, yeah?
