Supergirl Season 2 Episode 6: Changing Clip Teases Parasite

The first clip from this Monday's "Changing" episode of Supergirl has found its way online, and it features Alex Danvers and J'onn J'onzz leading a team of DEO agents into an Arctic research facility. Oh, and the name of the facility is "Thorul." Why is that important? Thorul was one of the aliases that Lena Luthor, Lex's sister, used during the Silver Age because she was ashamed of the Luthor name.

In one of the labs, Alex and J'onn are shocked to come across dead bodies (not all human) that look "like something sucked them dry." They do discover that one person, Dr. Rudy Jones (William Mapother), is still alive, but he appears to be in shock.

Rudy Jones is, of course, the second character in DC Comics to become Parasite, one of Superman's most formidable adversaries. Jones's Parasite debuted in Firestorm vol. 2 #58 and was created by John Ostrander and Joe Brozowski. Once Parasite touches somone, he can temporarily absorb their energy, knowledge, and super-abilities.

THE GUARDIAN DEBUTS IN NATIONAL CITY – The Guardian debuts to lend a hand after a parasite alien drains Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) of her power. Mon-El (Chris Wood) considers a less than desirable new career which then leads him to contemplate his motives. Alex (Chyler Leigh) struggles with a new reality.

Andrew Kreisberg and Caitlin Parris wrote the script based on the story by Greg Beranti. The episode was directed by Larry Teng.

International Television Distribution, SUPERGIRL is executive produced by Greg Berlanti (Arrow, The Flash), Ali Adler (The New Normal), Andrew Kreisberg (The Flash, Arrow) and Sarah Schechter (Blindspot, The Mysteries of Laura). Supergirl is based on the characters created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster and appearing in DC Comics, by special arrangement with the Jerry Siegel Family.

Supergirl airs Mondays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on The CW. "Changing" will debut on November 14.
