The sixteenth episode of Arrow's fifth season has gone into production, and so as ever, executive producer Marc Guggenheim has given some insight into what's coming up with a peek at the episode's title page.
The episode is called "Checkmate," which Guggenheim assures (having been burned by fan expectations when using common words and phrases before, one assumes) does not refer to the spy agency formerly run by Maxwell Lord and Amanda Waller in the comics.

Beth Schwartz and Sarah Tarkoff wrote the episode, which will be the directorial debut of Ken Shane, a veteran second unit director and assistant director who has not only worked on Arrow for years but also worked on Alien 3 and Tim Burton's Batman.
While "Checkmate" the spy organization would have been the obvious starting point for any guesses about the content of the episode, it seems more likely that it's a reference to Team Arrow's ongoing conflict with Prometheus, especially as the previous episode seemed to reference an escalation there.
