It's been a crazy day for Nightwing fans. If you haven't heard, it looks like Warner Bros. is looking to bring the iconic DC Comics character to life on-screen. News broke earlier today that a film based on the character was being developed by the director of The LEGO Batman Movie. Naturally, the reports sparked a frenzy amongst fans, and it looks like one artist has taken the time to show their Nightwing love.
Over on Twitter, a graphic artist by the named BossLogic threw in his fan-casting suggestion for the Batman character. "Since Nightwing is back on the table my choice is still Steven R. McQueen," he wrote, and the image is certainly stunning.

For those of you wondering if Steven R. McQueen would play Nightwing, then the odds seem to say yes. In the past, the actor has repeatedly discussed his interest in playing Batman's sidekick. A couple years ago, the actor was lobbying for the role when TNT was shopping around Titans, a live-action series based on DC Comics. The actor shared his personal research on Nightwing via social media, and the actor has previously joked about playing the character on The CW's Arrow.
McQueen is not the only star who is being fan-cast in the role. Scott Eastwood has been a top contender for the role alongside actors like Kit Harrington and Steven Yeun. You can check out ComicBook's dream-casting of Nightwing here.
Of course, fans will be keeping up with any updates about DC Films' latest project. The news took the Internet by storm earlier today, and the comic book community has rallied behind the Nightwing film.
If you are not familiar with the iconic hero, then you have a bit to catch up on. After all, the character was introduced to the world way back in April 1940. Nightwing, whose real name is Dick Grayson, is the original Robin to DC Comics' Batman. The hero was created by Bob Kane and Bill Finger, and Grayson grew up as Bruce Wayne's ward. He then went on to become Robin when Batman came into being, and the crime-fighting duo took to Gotham to weed out crime. As he grew older, Grayson took a leadership position within the Teen Titans team before he went solo under the name Nightwing to assert his own independence.

Comic book readers most recently saw Nightwing return in his own Rebirth spin-off. Writer Tim Seely is the man behind the new story as he pits Nightwing against the Parliament of Owls. Speaking about the character's versatility, Seely told The Washington Post, "The original design of [Dick Grayson] is so perfect, he really does translate into so many different genres and potential stories. I think that's what's made him such a fan favorite."
