The Season 2 finale of Supergirl will have some fans in tears!
In last week's episode, we finally learned how Queen Rhea was going to get back at Kara for being the main reason her son, Mon-El, won't return to Daxam and rebuild their empire. After manipulating Lena Luthor into building a portal, which Rhea claimed would send her back to home world, it allowed all of the Daxam ships spread across the galaxy to teleport to Earth. And now that the alien fleet filled with yellow-sun powered Daxamites is hovering over National City, Rhea plans to turn Earth into the new Daxam.
In order to stop Rhea and her army, Supergirl will have to align herself with Lillian Luthor and her alien-hating organization, Cadmus. Plus, at some point, Supergirl will also have to deal with the arrival of General Zod.
“There’s multiple showdowns coming up,” executive producer Andrew Kreisberg told EW. “These are some of our biggest episodes we’ve ever done.”
“The finale is probably the biggest episode we’ve ever done,” Kreisberg continued. “We saved a bunch of money to pay for more visual effects and actually added another day to the schedule so we could make it as big as possible, and yet it also has multiple get-your-Kleenex scenes. We’re really excited about it. We’re all blown away.”
Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) grapples with whether or not to obey the President’s (guest star Lynda Carter) orders regarding Rhea’s (guest star Teri Hatcher) latest actions. Meanwhile, Cat Grant (Calista Flockhart) returns to National City.
