Wonder Woman continues to outpace early predictions, and the studio and fans couldn't be happier. Now the film has landed $11.7 million on Monday, putting it in some elite company.
That company happens to be her Justice League cohort, Superman. Wonder Woman has taken the 2nd highest Monday total in June ever for a superhero movie, right behind the Superman focused Man of Steel (via Deadline). Man of Steel took in $12.6 million, so it didn't beat Wonder Woman by much.
Ranked against all live action features in June, Wonder Woman sits at fourth place against some heavy hitting company, which includes Jurassic World ($25.3 million), Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen ($14.9 million), and Man of Steel.
The film is already the best opening ever for a film by a female director, as it took in $103.25 million over the weekend. Now the sights are aimed at the highest grossing movie by a female director list. The film would be up against Frozen at $400.7 million Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel at 219.6 million, and Twilight at $192.8 million.

Gal Gadot returns as the title character in the epic action-adventure from director Patty Jenkins. The film stars Gal Gadot (Diana Prince/Wonder Woman), Chris Pine (Steve Trevor), Robin Wright (General Antiope), Connie Nielsen (Queen Hippolyta), David Thewlis, Elena Anaya, Lucy Davis (Etta Candy), Danny Huston, Ewen Bremmer, Doutzen Kroes, Samantha Jo (Euboea), Florence Kasumba (Senator Acantha), Said Taghmaoui, Eleanor Matsuura (Epione), Emily Carey (Young Diana), and Lisa Loven Kongsli (Menalippe).
Wonder Woman is in theaters now, followed by Justice League on November 17, 2017; Aquaman on July 27, 2018; Shazam on April 5, 2019; Justice League 2 on June 14, 2019; Cyborg on April 3, 2020; and Green Lantern Corps on July 24, 2020. The Flash, The Batman, Dark Universe and Man of Steel 2 are currently without a release dates.
