Creators and fans all across the pop culture landscape are celebrating the success of Wonder Woman. After the Gal Gadot-led film debuted to a worldwide box office of $228 million, many felt compelled to congratulate the film's cast and crew via social media. This includes, as it turns out, the other actress most well known for portraying the Princess of Themyscira - Lynda Carter.
Carter portrayed the DC Comics superheroine in over 50 episodes of the Wonder Woman television series, as well as in a TV movie. The actress - who is currently playing an equally otherworldly President on The CW's Supergirl - voiced her excitement about Wonder Woman's box office success on Twitter.

The tweet sparked a response by the film's director, Patty Jenkins, who made a point to honor Carter's portrayal of the character.

Besides Carter's past ties to the character, the actress had a significant hand in helping Wonder Woman earn her first big-screen solo film. Jenkins reportedly consulted with Carter throughout the film's production, helping get to the emotional root of Carter's past performance.
