A brand new promo just dropped for the Season 4 premiere of CW's The Flash, featuring the return of Barry Allen from the Speed Force.
But things aren't what they seem in this teaser, as Allen might be a changed man after his time away. And he'll also have to face another threat against Iris West and Central City. Check out the clip above.
The clip features Barry with a sweet beard and longer hair, as if he's spent a lot of time in the Speed Force before finally returning to his friends and fiancé. Cisco even mentions that he's made Barry a new suit, which we previously caught a glimpse of from set photos.
He appears to be feeling some lingering affects from his time away, with the footage hinting that he's not quite the same happy-go-lucky Barry Allen that he's been in previous episodes.
But time waits for no man and soon another villain comes to threaten Iris' life, as Central City has to deal with a bad case of Samuroids. While the nature of the new villain is unknown at this point, we previously caught a glimpse of the new character during the footage from San Diego Comic-Con.
Vibe and Kid Flash attempt to face the Samuroid down, but the character demands to see The Flash and tosses everyone aside with an energy wave created by slamming his sword to the ground.
The Flash won't have long to readjust to life back in Central City, as the promo indicates that Iris tries to face down the Samuroid and ends up getting abducted. Her father Joe and a squad of police officers try to rescue her, but can only watch as Iris and the Samuroid jetpack away from the scene.
Will the bed-ridden Barry be able to get his act together in time to rescue Iris from yet another villain hellbent on punishing him? Will Iris learn it's just not worth it to continue dealing with this nonsense? And will S.T.A.R. Labs develop a cure for Samuroids?
We'll find out when The Flash returns to the CW on October 10.
