Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice didn't see its heroic trio team up for long, but the time they spent together meant plenty. After all, Gal Gadot did just say Justice League will show Wonder Woman and Batman dealing with Superman's passing.
During a recent interview with US Weekly, Gadot opened up about how the loss of Superman has affected Diana and Bruce.
"Since they've fought together, they knew each other's strengths. They also understand the hope Superman stood for, that was lost [when he died], so they feel that more than the others," Gadot explained.
Of course, it's easy to see why Diana and Bruce will suffer from Clark's death more than their new teammates. The Flash and Aquaman are newcomers to the Justice League, and they did not fight with Superman when Doomsday appeared. The duo didn't see Superman knowingly sacrifice his life to save the city of Metropolis and even the world.
Out of the Justice League, it is unlikely that anyone will mourn as much as Bruce. Batman had a tenuous relationship with Superman at the start, but the pair leveled with one another by the end of Batman v Superman. Clark reminded Bruce of their humanity shortly before Doomsday could wreak havoc, Superman's death weighed heavily on Batman. Bruce had tried to kill the Kryptonian once, but that didn't mean the Gotham legend wanted Clark dead after they came head-to-head.
Justice League will show how each of its members honor the sacrifice Superman made, and the movie will hopefully extend beyond its leads. Louis Lane and Martha Kent will surely have their own methods of coping with the unprecedented loss, so Superman fans will want to bring some tissues with them when Justice League hits later this fall.
