'Arrow' EP Says "Crisis on Earth-X" Crossover Is Oliver's Story of True Love

This season's four-part Arrowverse crossover event, "Crisis on Earth-X" may be centered around Iris and Barry's wedding but they may not be the only characters feeling the love. The story may just be about Oliver Queen and true love.
In a recent interview with TV Guide, Arrow executive producer Wendy Mericle said the real story being told in the crossover event belongs to Oliver.
"It's Oliver and one other character in the Arrowverse's story," Mericle said. "It really explores the question of true love, and what does that look like? It's emotionally really compelling, and you're going to be surprised by what he learns and how he learns it and who he learns it form. It's pretty crazy stuff, I'm not going to lie."
"Crisis on Earth-X" is the annual four-way crossover between Arrow, The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow, and Supergirl and has been described as a "four-hour movie" by Arrow star Stephen Amell. The event brings together the casts of all four shows for Barry and Iris' much-anticipated wedding only villains from Earth-X -- the reality where the Nazis won World War II -- show up to crash the party with a lethal agenda of their own.
While weddings do evoke feelings for those in attendance and can even make people consider their own romantic lives, it sounds like someone has to clue Oliver and while Mericle doesn't specify who gets him to open up his heart, the idea of Oliver exploring true love is sure to have fans speculating that we might finally get resolution to the will they-won't they dynamic between Oliver and Felicity.
As fans remember very well, Oliver and Felicity developed a romantic relationship in season three only for Felicity to break it off in season four. But as season five progressed, the pair seemed to be growing closer to one another again, culminating in a kiss during the season finale, "Lian Yu." However, with the fates of nearly everyone on Arrow up in the air, Oliver's true love -- and the person who clues him in to it -- may be a surprise no one sees coming.
This year's four-part crossover will air across two nights Monday, November 27th and Tuesday, November 28th on The CW. For this crossover event, Arrow will air on a special night Monday at 9/8c following Supergirl, while the other DC shows will remain in their regularly scheduled time periods.
