Arrow is headed back to our television screens, and The CW is celebrating with a pretty awesome sizzle reel.
The video, which you can check out above, teases the sort of "new normal" Oliver Queen/Green Arrow (Stephen Amell) will have to endure. While the traumatic events of the Lian Yu explosion, as well as who ends up surviving it, will be a core part of the season, the sizzle reel proves that the show will really hit the ground running.
"When we start with 601," Amell told ComicBook.com earlier this year, "nothing has made my jaw drop in the first three scripts that I've read. But concurrently, they're really tight, and they're really moving the story forward. And I feel like we're using the license that we've earned over five seasons to play it slow with some stories."
The promo also features the debut of quite a few characters, including Ricardo Diaz (Kirk Acevedo), the show's take on Green Arrow villain Richard Dragon. FBI agent Samandra Watson (GLOW's Sydelle Noel), Joseph Wilson (Liam Hall), son of Slade Wilson/Deathstroke, and Michael Emerson's mystery character all make their first appearances as well.
Along the way, fans get a sneak peek at some other much-anticipated moments, such as the return of Laurel Lance/Black Siren (Katie Cassidy), Oliver taking on a more paternal role, and Oliver addressing his dual life as Green Arrow to the Star City press.
Fans won't have to wait too long to see how it all unfolds, when Arrow returns for its sixth season on Thursday, October 12th at 9 p.m. ET/PT following the season premiere of Supernatural on The CW.
