It turns out Justice League may be an even shorter movie than we thought.

British theater chain Empire Cinemas has revealed that the runtime of Justice League, including the film's credits, is 1 hour, 59 minutes, and 53 second, or roughly 119 minutes.

That's two minutes shorter than the 121-minute runtime that was confirmed by American theater chains Regal Cinemas and AMC Theatres over the weekend.

The 121 minutes already makes Justice League the shortest movie in the DC Extended Universe series so far. The loss of two minutes only makes the gap with the next shortest film, Suicide Squad, slightly larger.

For the sake of comparison, Man of Steel's runtime was 143 minutes. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice had a runtime of 153 minutes. Suicide Squad had a runtime of 123 minutes. Wonder Woman had a run time of 141 minutes.

The relatively short runtime is unexpected considering Justice League's ensemble cast. With all of the DC Extended Universe's biggest heroes taking part in the story, many fans assumed that Justice League would be longer than average in order to give each character an arc.

Also, Justice League was directed by Zack Snyder, who directed Man of Steel and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, so fans may have expected Justice League to be of similar length.

Perhaps Snyder leaving the film in post-production, giving control to Joss Whedon for reshoots and editing, has something to do with the difference, though those involved with the film has insisted that Snyder's vision for remains intact.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice received an Ultimate Edition home media release that featured 31 minutes of additional footage. Whether a similar release is in store for Justice League, extended the film's length to be more in line with what many fans were expecting, remains to be seen.

Justice League currently has a 4.17 out of 5 ComicBook.com User Anticipation rating making it the third most anticipated upcoming comic book movie among ComicBook.com readers.
