The CW has released a preview of "Wake Up," tonight's seventh episode of Supergirl's third season.

While the clip shows Mon-El's (Chris Wood) return to Earth after having to leave for his own safety after the failed Daxamite invasion last season, it's not just Kara Danvers/Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) dealing with unexplained changes. "Wake Up" also sees Samantha (Odette Annable) starting to realize that there is something different about her, so much so that she goes to ask questions of her adoptive mother. You can check out the preview above.

Speaking with her adoptive mother, with home she does not have the best relationship, may give Samantha some context on her situation and according to series star Melissa Benoist, getting to watch Samantha slowly become Reign is a spectacular part of the season.

"I think Reign is going to surprise people," Benoist said. "She is pretty spectacular to behold, and she definitely will give Supergirl the fight of her life. I think what sets her aside from the villains that we've seen-- the big bads that we've seen up to this point on the show, she has a really surprising back story that's quite grounded, that gets you really invested in who she really is fundamentally."

Another story audiences are invested in is that of J'onn (David Harewood) and his father, Myr'nn (Carl Lumbly) and fans will get to see how Myr'nn is adjusting to life on Earth after centuries as a prisoner of war on Mars. The father and son will begin exploring this new life together on tonight's episode as well.

"They kind of realize, you know, get your dad out," executive producer Jessica Queller says in the preview. "Go out on the town and show him Earth and it's a really lovely father and son story."

But don't expect it to simply be two Martians about town. Executive producer Robert Rovner teased that there is a bit of a twist to the story.

"And it has a really surprising end," he said.

Supergirl airs Mondays at 8/7c on The CW.
