Syfy's Krypton might still be a few months away from debuting, but fans have just uncovered a pretty major thing about the series' setting.

Entertainment Weekly recently shared an interview with Krypton's production designer, Ondrej Nekvasil, which included several pieces of set design for the show. Along the way, the interview confirmed a sort of fan theory for the upcoming Syfy series - that it takes place within Kandor City.

This news is sure to delight DC Comics fans - and probably raise a few questions in the process. For the uninitiated, Kandor is Krypton's capital city, which exists in a sort of dome shape. The city has existed in quite a few evolutions over the years, but most notably as a miniaturized city, after it was stolen by the villain Brainiac.

With Brainiac set to appear on Krypton in some way, fans are sure to speculate about whether or not that miniaturization of Kandor will come into play. But ultimately, fans will have to wait and see if and how that happens, as the series is set to subvert expectations about Krypton's demise.

"Superman being the most famous superhero of all time, he's never absent in terms of the tone and the feel, and also the stakes of the show," executive producer Damien Kindler told ComicBook.com last year. "So, Krypton is a story that everybody believes they know the ending, but this show really aspires to throw all that on its head and, from the very first episode, make people understand that we're really changing the ending and if you know the ending to story you actually don't and the stakes have much more to do with the present than the do about the past.

"So it's less just going back and telling stories about the past and you know the ending than it is about the past and the future colliding and Superman and his very existence being put on the line," Kindler continued. "It's a very rich world. It will feel a bit familiar, but it will also be a look at Krypton as a place and a civilization through a lens that you've never seen."

Krypton will premiere on March 21st on Syfy.
