If there's one thing that Square Enix is good at, it's capitalizing on big-name sequels. This is especially true with its role-playing games, as Final Fantasy XV is doing rather well in sales, and Kingdom Hearts III will no doubt be a tremendous hit whenever it arrives.

But could the company be planning something else on the horizon? A new job listing has appeared over on Japanese recruitment site ECareerFA, noting that developers were being sought out to work on a "Super-Famous RPG Series." The ad specifically is looking for a 2D artist.

In the ad, the artist's job is descripted as creating the image of "a certain RPG's numbered title," including working on environmental art that includes towns, fields, dungeons, vehicles, weapons and other items within the world.

The ad asks that the candidate can focus on world design when it comes to design.

Square Enix isn't mentioned specifically in the ad, but there are a lot of hints indicating that it's behind it, as it's put together many "huge RPGs," as well as popular online titles. It also has a huge digital entertainment business which has "high quality games with unique world views," along with "a large number of million-sellers."

The ad also points out that it could be located at the company's headquarters in Tokyo, so applicants will more than likely be headed right there, since it's close to the exit of the Higashi-Shinjuku station, according to DualShockers.

So far, the game is only showing as in pre-production, so something tells us that, until they put the entire team together, the project won't even be announced – so don't expect it to be revealed at this year's E3 or anything. Still, it may indicate the return of one of the company's dormant franchises. Perhaps another Chrono game? Or, dare we dream, another chapter in the Xenosaga series? (We'll even take a new Xenoblade at this point.)

There's no official word on the project, so we'll keep you informed once news surfaces. But, yeah, considering Square Enix's recent streak with its hit RPG line-up, we'll certainly take another. Sooner rather than later, please.
