Call Of Duty: WWII Doesn’t Have Unlimited Sprint

If you were hoping to run around like crazy when it came to shooting German soldiers in Call of Duty: WWII, we've got some bad news.

Today, Michael Condrey, co-founder of the developers at Sledgehammer Games (who are currently working on the first-person shooter follow-up), noted on Twitter that the game won't have unlimited sprint. This is more than likely a choice to add to the game's realism.

When a fan asked, "Unlimited Sprint in WWII?", Condrey simply replied, "Nope." And that was pretty much the end of that.

Sprinting has been a big part of the Call of Duty series for several years now, enabling players to get around a map very quickly in both single and multiplayer modes of the games. There have been some titles that have presented an unlimited sprint option, where you can run around without running out of energy, but, for the most part, sprint is limited in games, usually indicated by the player running out of breath. That forces you to stop and basically catch your breath.

This is the case with Call of Duty: WWII, where the game will require you to fight your way through a number of World War II locales, such as Battle of the Bulge, while trying to stay alive. Unlimited sprint, as appealing as it may be, would take away from the realism of the game.

That said, you should still be able to sprint to a limited effect within the game, just to get to certain points on the map. So it won't be missing entirely. You'll just need to pace it out so you don't run out of breath too quickly and put yourself in a dangerous spot.

We'll know more about the game in the next few weeks, as Activision will no doubt reveal new gameplay from both the single player campaign and multiplayer at the Electronic Entertainment Expo. The game will definitely get some sort of exposure at Sony's pre-E3 press conference in mid-June, and we'll have more details for you at that time.

Call of Duty: WWII will release on November 3rd for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.
