The End of Harley Quinn?
In this confrontation between Harley Quinn and Wonder Woman, it's Wonder Woman who gets the last laugh. After a brief showdown with Cheetah, Wonder Woman is ready to slay her long-time rival. She stands with the defeated Cheetah held high, a sword poised to strike at her neck at any given moment.
That's where Harley steps in and shoots the sword out of her hand. Harley is committed to doing things Batman's way, and Batman strictly forbade them from killing anyone. Wonder Woman doesn't take too kindly to Harley's correction, and decides it'd be easier to dispose of Harley as well.
After stabbing Harley, Supergirl tries to mend her wounds with her heat vision, but we're left wondering whether Harley survived the encounter.
prevnextGrodd Gets a Gut Full of Trident
Aquaman and Black Adam are on a mission to awaken an ancient magical power in order to imbue Aquaman's trident with magical properties. This has to be done before they can mount a strike on Brainiac's ship. The only problem? Gorilla Grodd is faithful to Brainiac, and sets out to stop these two before they can complete their ritual.
After winning a brief battle with Grodd, Aquaman decides to take things into his own hands. While Grodd lay wounded on the ground, Aquaman delivers a near-lethal blow to his side. Grodd simply laughs and assures them that Brainiac can't be stopped, which is enough to persuade Aquaman to strike once more with his trident -- this time, the blow is lethal.
prevnextDr. Fate Meets His Fate
Throughout the course of the Injustice 2 campaign, we see that Dr. Fate becomes a greater slave to the Lords of Order and the tides of fate than to his allies on Earth. Dr. Fate isn't loyal to Brainiac directly, but he believes that Superman's actions have caused a ripple of causation that ended in Brainiac's arrival, and to stop him would be to interfere with fate to an even greater degree. Dr. Fate was not going to allow this.
After being defeated in battle, however, the Helm of Fate is crushed and Dr. Fate comes to his senses. It's too late, though. After realizing what he had done, Brainiac sends forth a tentacle from his ship and impales Dr. Fate, dragging him back into a prison. Whether he lives or dies there, we're not sure.
prevnextSuperman's Ending, Batman's Slavery
This is perhaps one of the most shocking moments in the entire campaign, and of course it happens at the very end and we're left wondering how it could possibly resolve.
At the end of the game, if you choose to side with Superman, you'll eventually defeat Batman in battle and take control of Brainiac's ship for yourself. Superman dons a new costume; a new set of armor which links him seamlessly to Brainiac's ship and all it contains. It also gives his mind power over all of the ship's prisoners.
Superman tries to persuade Supergirl, now held in captivity, to join him. She refuses, but he states that she'll end up joining him one way or another. That's when this mind-controlled Batman walks into the scene with dead, glowing eyes. It's unsettling, and indicates that Superman is able to take complete control of the only one who was ever able to stop him.
What happens next? I guess we'll find out when Injustice 3 comes out.
