Capcom just made one of the most confusing announcements we've ever heard, from any company. According to GameSpot, Capcom has no plans to localize Monster Hunter XX for the Nintendo Switch. This, despite pretty much every Nintendo Switch owner unanimously jumping for joy when Monster Hunter XX for the Nintendo Switch was announced. Typically I roll my eyes when comments sections erupt with cries of, "Wow, (insert company ) must really hate money!" But seriously, Capcom: Do you hate money?

In a tweet, one of Capcom's community managers confirmed that they're focused on Monster Hunter World for Western audiences right now, and there's nothing concrete on the way for Switch at the moment.

Look. Monster Hunter World looks amazing, and I'm going to buy that game. I'm happy that PlayStation, Xbox, and PC gamers are going to finally get a next-gen Monster Hunter experience with HD graphics. The thing is, Monster Hunter World makes some serious changes to the traditional Mosnter Hunter formula. Changes that are perceived and predicted to appeal to Western gamers.

For example, word on the street is that this new Monster Hunter is going to get rid of the lengthy preparation phase that typically leads up to a big hunt in classic Monster Hunter games. The maps are also giant, open areas and there are no more load times between distinct map sections. Gameplay has been streamlined in a number of ways to make the experience more accessible.

None of this is bad, but many of us are craving a classic Monster Hunter experience on the go. The Nintendo Switch is the perfect platform for a game like this, where grinding, gathering, preparing, and hunting can often take up huge chunks of time. Being able to pick up and play in spurts is wonderful, and the thought of laying in bed and playing Monster Hunter with people around the world is -- well, was -- a dream come true.

Capcom, if you're reading this. Give us some good news soon. Redeem our hope and our trust.
