Overwatch Fans Compare Heroes To Sonic The Hedgehog Characters

Never let it be said that Overwatch fans didn't have a lack of imagination, because these particular fans seem to think that some of the heroes in their beloved Blizzard-produced shooter have something in common with…Sonic the Hedgehog?

The Overwatch.TXT account on Twitter recently posted a series of images compiled by fans that compares certain characters in the Overwatch universe with that of Sonic the Hedgehog – and some of them are just a little too close to deny.

For instance, Sonic himself is actually compared to Soldier 76 when it comes to his choice of outfit, namely the red, white and blue adorned on his outfit. That one's a little loose, but then there are other comparisons made to certain characters and they match closer, like Shadow the Hedgehog (from the game of the same name) and Reaper in his original costume.

But the deeper we go into the lore of Sonic, the more comparisons that actually get made. This includes Torbjorn from Overwatch and Dr. Eggman, both of which who have wily facial hair and a small, stubbish figure; as well as McCree and Knuckles the Echidna (in a cowboy hat, to boot) and even Tracer and Tails, both of whom wear goggles to some extent and carry gear with them. If you take a look, the resemblance is a bit uncanny, even if Tracer is cuter. (Sorry, Tails.)

You can check out the attached gallery to see how the characters compare across the board, including a few oddball favorites from Knuckles Chaotix on the Sega 32X and Sonic the Fighters for Sega Saturn. It's pretty timely, too, especially with Sonic Forces on the way and Overwatch still doing quite well in popularity.
