With as many games as the company has released over the years, you'd think that one of Warner Bros.' internal franchises would be the biggest seller, like Lego Harry Potter or The Lego Movie Videogame. Instead, though, leave it to Marvel to be the dominant champ.

Speaking with VentureBeat, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment President David Haddad admitted as much, when asked how superhero games were doing following the box office success of Wonder Woman. "Congratulations to our studio," he noted. "I had nothing to do with it, but we couldn't be happier for our partners in theatrical.

"The response to it, critically and from the fans, the strength going into week two – also, we had three live DC games, two on mobile and one on console. We were able to activate around that. We were able to give Wonder Woman content and DLC for our two mobile games as well as the console game. That stuff works acros the whole studio. We're very proud of that.

"And we're doing more superheroes with Lego Marvel 2, a sequel to our best-selling Lego game ever."

It's actually a bit of a surprise, mainly because of how many Lego games were released over the years, based on different franchises. One would think that Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens would've been the big seller out of all the ones released, mainly due to the fact that the movie made $1.9 billion at the box office.

But nope, it's all about that stellar Marvel universe. Fans of Lego Marvel Super Heroes were quick to catch on with its abundant amount of characters – even Deadpool! – and its terrific storytelling, a staple in Travellers Tales' game offerings. It's also a surprise that Lego Marvel performed over Lego Dimensions and its many add-ons released over the past few years.

That spells good news for Lego Marvel Super Heroes 2, which is expected to be one of WB's biggest sellers for the holiday season, with both fans and players of all ages appreciating what it has to offer.

Lego Marvel Super Heroes 2 will release on November 14th for Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.
