Josh Duhamel Talks About Working On Call Of Duty And Transformers

Josh Duhamel is certainly keeping quite busy these days. His latest film, Transformers: The Last Knight, just hit theaters, and he's not slowing down as he heads into a leading role in Activision's forthcoming Call of Duty: WWII, set for release later this year.

With that, our interviewer recently caught up with Duhamel at an event, asking him about what it's like to work on something like Call of Duty: WWII, compared to working on Transformers. Obviously, they're two different experiences, as Duty obviously relies on a lot of motion capture to recreate the realism within the game, but Duhamel is quite pleased with how the work is going.

"Totally different," he explained when it came to the process between the two projects. When asked what ways, he talked about how Call of Duty's filming went. "Call of Duty is…it's all shot in this little…it's all contained. They build everything out in front of it. But it was a lot of work. It was a lot of work, and…but it's turning out beautifully. It's super intense."

We expected as much, since a lot of Activision's Call of Duty games lean towards the visceral. The series has been known for its intense moments over the past few years, and Call of Duty: WWII certainly doesn't appear to be the exception to the rule, taking place during the harrowing days of World War II and making people feel like they're right behind enemy lines, fighting through the Battle of the Bulge and other scenarios.

Duhamel plays a crucial part in the game's main storyline, where you control a soldier working alongside a squad to turn the tide of World War II back in America's favor, giving everything you've got over a variety of missions. No doubt Duhamel's character will provide a no-nonsense attitude when it comes to keeping his fellow squadmates in one piece for the next mission.

Call of Duty: WWII will be released on November 3rd for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC, and will likely be one of this season's bigger holiday hits. Meanwhile, Transformers: The Last Knight is in theaters now…even though the reviews aren't really looking good.
