Final Fantasy XV just got a fancy new off-roading update, Episode Prompto drops tomorrow, and multiplayer is still on the way, but Square Enix isn't done yet. There's still one sad story to tell, and today we finally got a trailer for Final Fantasy XV Episode Ignis. Check it out above.

As you can see, things aren't looking so great. We thought that Prompto had a dark and foreboding episode trailer, but Episode Ignis may take the cake as far as underdog stories go. Check out the trailer above.

So the fact that Episode Ignis won't be launching until December leads us to believe that the multiplayer update will be coming some time sooner. We'll have to wait for confirmation from Square Enix on that one, because at the time of writing, this trailer hasn't released on any of their official channels, so we're lacking an official press release that typically offers updated DLC roadmaps.

Remember that if you purchased the Final Fantasy XV season pass, Episode Ignis will be yours on launch day. The $25 season pass entitles you to all three character episodes featuring Gladio, Prompto, and Ignis, as well as multiple DLC packs featuring exclusive weapons and items. As mentioned, a multiplayer expansion called "Comrades" is on the way as well, and we expected it to drop after the three character stories. Since Episode Ignis is launching so late, we suspect an earlier release for "Comrades." We'll keep you updated on that.

In the meantime, season pass owners can look forward to Episode Prompto launching tomorrow! Prompto's story DLC will give us glimpse into his mysterious past, and will offer a few new gameplay opportunities. Prompto has a borderline unhealthy love of firearms, and we'll get to play with a lot of fancy guns tomorrow. Check out his trailer right here.
