There are people that make the messes with guns, knives and other weapons – and then there are those that are stuck cleaning up the mess. And that's where the Serial Cleaner comes into play.

This unique game, put together by the team at iFun4all S.A., puts you into the shoes of a person who lands on the scene mere moments after some heinous act of murder has gone down. It's up to you to make your way to the crime scene, avoid being tracked by the cops, and taking care of any bodies and blood stains that are left behind. In addition, you're also tasked with hiding murder weapons from the scene, just in case any cops come snoopin'. In other words, you're pretty much "cleaning" up the crime scene.

That sounds innovative in itself, but the bonus stages that are featured in the forthcoming game actually have something unique about them. According to Game Informer, the stages are based on popular movies, even though they're not officially tied in with them. Still, it's easy to spot references that point their way, and that's something fans may take notice of.

Here's the full list of bonus stages featured in the game, and the movies they're loosely based upon :

  1. Enter the Cleaner (based on Enter the Dragon)
  2. Soiled Armour (based on Monty Python and the Holy Grail)
  3. Taxi Cleaner (based on Taxi Driver)
  4. The Nun's Hooverslinger (based on Two Mules for Sister Sara)
  5. Cleaning the Nest (based on One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest)
  6. Bobby Leaner Cleaning Show (based on Rocky Horror Picture Show)
  7. Fruit and Gear (based on A Clockwork Orange)
  8. Star Dusting (based on Star Wars: A New Hope)
  9. Cleaneria (based on Suspiria)
  10. In Space, No One Can Hear You Clean (based on Alien)

So, yes, in a sense, you get to clean up the Cantina from Star Wars or perhaps even the mess left behind by the crew in A Clockwork Orange. The question is, can you get these messes fixed in time to make a clean getaway?

Serial Cleaner arrives on July 11th for PlayStation 4 and July 14th for Xbox One.
