A high-profile YouTuber known as Adam "SkyDoesMinecraft" Dahlberg who creates Minecraft videos for a wide range of users is calling it quits, putting away his tools for good after he's grown tired of both the building game and its community.

The user has been in the business of creating Minecraft content for quite some time now as he created all kinds of different videos for the game over the years, amassing just under 12 million subscribers along the way.

"It's time for me to do a restart," says Dahlberg in his video that's shown above where he announces that he's retiring the channel. "And if you guys want to come along with me on the restart, please do."

Dahlberg also said in the video that his the account he's moving to, NetNobody, will allow fans to see more of what Adam is like as opposed to what Sky is like on his Minecraft channel.

As far as why he's leaving the Minecraft content creation field, he says that he's grown tired of being in the blocky world and that he needs to move on to "explore the real world."

"I can't force myself to sit here and play this game anymore," he said. "It's just not fun for me."

The decision to leave has been in the works for a few years, a length of time that Dalhberg says he's been dissatisfied with the game throughout. The community also took a toll on his inspiration for creating content; Dalhberg noted that the Minecraft community has plenty of younger users thanks to the simplicity of the game that appeals to all ages, but he says that the age demographic was stfling creative content and resulting in everything having to be kid-friendly.

In another video that can be seen here, you can hear a much more explicit version of Dalhberg's resignation that he gave in an interview off of the SkyDoesMinecraft channel. Within the interview, he says that he felt "fake" in his content and wasn't able to fully express himself through his videos.

His NetNobody channel is more centered on music, though the channel's description also includes skits, challenge videos, and more "random" content in the future. The channel currently has just over 1 million users, a number that'll likely grow as fans of Dalhberg transition over to his new home.
