Overwatch's Doomfist is a new hero that's getting ready to be released live onto the team-based game, but some players have begun drawing some comparison between the Overwatch villain and another brawler who's big on punches. Tekken 7 apparently noticed the similarities as well and put out a tweet comparing Doomfist and the Tekken fighter, Jack, side-by-side to show just how similar they are.

The comparison seems to be all in good fun from the fighting game, but it's hard to ignore some of the consistencies between the two characters. That's not Doomfist' base model that's being shown in the image, rather it's one of the skins that the Nigerian character will get along with his upcoming release. His base skin doesn't look as much like Jack, but with the mohawks the skins bring, it ties the two together much more.

Within the replies to the tweet, players of both games took the comparison in stride as well, saying that any similarities were just fine as long as content kept coming. Others referenced even older characters such as Neinhalt Sieger from Samurai Showdown.

Doomfist isn't available just yet on the live version of Overwatch, but he's currently being tested within the PTR to make sure that the punch-crazy Offense character is as balanced as he can be before he starts knocking players around. Sadly, Terry Crews won't be the voice of Doomfist like people initially thought, but if you haven't caught up on Doomfists' kit, we've got that for you here:

Hand Cannon:

  • Doomfist fires a short-range burst from the knuckles of his fist. Its ammunition is automatically regenerated over a short time.

Seismic Slam:

  • Doomfist leaps forward and smashes into the ground, knocking nearby enemies toward him.

Rising Uppercut:

  • Doomfist uppercuts enemies in front of him into the air.

Rocket Punch:

  • After charging up, Doomfist lunges forward and knocks an enemy back, dealing additional damage if they impact a wall.

The Best Defense:

  • Doomfist generates temporary personal shields when he deals ability damage.

Meteor Strike:

  • Doomfist leaps into the sky, then crashes to the ground, dealing significant damage.
