Aside from Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle, we haven't been hearing too much about Ubisoft's line-up for the Nintendo Switch, which was set to include games like Rayman Legends and Steep when announced earlier this year. However, today, the company started to get those plans rolling, as it provided a new trailer and release date for the Switch version of its popular platforming game.

Legends, which had previously seen release on a number of platforms, including Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Nintendo Wii U, will make its way to Nintendo Switch starting September 12th, according to the company's latest blog post.

In addition, a demo for the game is currently being prepped for release on the eShop, set to arrive sometime "later this summer". It was accidentally released early on the European eShop this week, but has since been taken back down. Soon, though, you'll be able to try before you buy.

"The Definitive Edition takes advantage of the capabilities of the Nintendo Switch, enabling up to four players to play together over a wireless local multiplayer connection. Furthermore, players can use the undocked Switch touchscreen to move platforms, cut ropes, take out enemies, and more. There are also other new features in store, including an updated version of the raucous soccer-inspired minigame Kung Foot," the company noted in its blog post.

Of course, if you play on the system, you won't have touch-screen features, but that's something that a lot of fans are perfectly fine with.

There's also a new trailer for the game, which you can see above. It's a bit on the weird side, with a father and son doing some surfing and then playing Rayman Legends together on the beach before going out to hit the water again – and leaving their Nintendo Switch completely unattended. Forget that – put it in the bag and take it with us. No one's stealing our Switch.

If you ask us, the below trailer for Rayman Legends is way more fun. Probably because of the song.

The game was a lot of fun on previous platforms, with its entertaining 2D style and enriched gameplay, so experiencing it again on the Nintendo Switch – with four-player support – won't be a bad thing. Now we just need to know what the price is. Amazon currently lists the game at $39.99, but we're still awaiting confirmation from Ubi.
