The Transportation Security Administration has a lot of guidelines in place when it comes to going through security in an airport, but up until this point, it's been pretty relaxed with game systems. Note the "up until this point".

The group has announced a new regulation that requires electronic devices that are larger than a cell phone to be placed in their own container. Now, this means that you'll need to not only pull your laptop and other large electronic devices out of your box, but also game systems like the Nintendo Switch, the PS Vita and maybe even the Nintendo 3DS/2DS models.

This isn't really a big deal, it just means you'll have to fumble around in your luggage a bit more, find the game device and set it aside your other electronics in the bin, provided that they don't overlap one another. You'll still be able to take your Switch and Vita and other game systems on the flight no problem, you'll just need to set them aside so they can be scanned.

The TSA didn't make this clear if this will affect those that have the TSA Pre program, in which they can scan their luggage without taking any of the electronics out of their bag, but it likely won't affect them. So if you have that, you can still mosey along with ease.

Still, maybe there's a benefit to taking your Nintendo Switch out of your bag. You can be the awe of these hard-working security guys as they go, "Hey, I need to find out of these." You can be the jealousy of the airport staff. Okay, so it's not that big a thing, but you might as well make the most out of it, yeah?

The TSA noted in a press release, "Due to an increased threat to aviation security, DHS Secretary John Kelly announced in late June new security requirements for nearly 280 airports in more than 100 countries. In an effort to raise the baseline for aviation security worldwide, TSA continues to work closely with airports and airlines to enhance security measures and stay ahead of the evolving threat."

It could be worse – you could be stuck on a flight without the Nintendo Switch. Yeah, no thanks. We need to get through Breath of the Wild.
